What is Emsella?
The Emsella pelvic floor chair is a revolutionary non-invasive device which uses electromagnetic energy to contract and strengthen your pelvic floor muscles.
Is Emsella better than kegal exercises?
Emsella is far superior to exercises you can do at home (kegal) for the following reasons:
- Most people simply don’t incorporate pelvic floor exercises into their day to day lives.
- Many people do kegal exercises incorrectly.
Even when done correctly, normal kegal exercises only use 30% of the muscle contractility potential.
Each Emsella session induces over 11,000 contractions and unlocks 100% of the muscle potential. Emsella has been proven in many clinical studies to improve pelvic muscle volume, blood flow, symptoms and quality of life.
How does Emsella compare to other pelvic floor devices on the market?
As a GP, it is important to Dr Hannah to introduce only the best, evidence-based and safe devices for KinDRed Clinic.
We have invested in Emsella for the following reasons:
- Emsella is the only pelvic floor chair which is FDA and CE approved.
- Emsella has the most clinical studies.
- Emsella generates a focused magnetic field shape, allowing it to penetrate 10cm deep, to treat the entire pelvic floor. Other devices do not reach this depth.
- The initial Emsella course is usually just 6 sessions. Some other devices require many more sessions.
- Emsella creates 2.5 Tesla of magnetic energy (other devices create 2 Tesla).
Dr Hannah has also personally tried several pelvic floor devices and believes Emsella to be the best.

How many treatments will I need?
We will recommend a bespoke treatment plan during your initial consultation. Most people will need an initial course of 6 sessions (usually 2 per week). We then recommend a single maintenance session every 3-6 months.
How do I schedule the Emsella sessions?
After your initial consultation, you may purchase a course of 6 treatments. You will then be able to book your sessions using our online booking system (or app) at a time convenient to you. You will normally book 2 – 3 sessions per week (ensuring at least 48 hours between sessions).
If you menstruate, avoid booking a session during your period.
When will I see the benefits?
Most people start to notice an improvement after their first 2-3 sessions. Full improvement will be seen a few weeks after the initial course.
How long do results last?
Improvement from baseline is usually enjoyed for around 6-12 months. We recommend a single maintenance session every 3 – 6 months.
Does Emsella hurt?
The session is non-invasive. You will experience a tingling sensation and involuntary muscle contractions but it isn’t painful. Your first session will be fully supervised and supported to ensure we gradually adjust the settings to the desired, comfortable level.
Is there anyone who can’t use the Emsella?
Your medical suitability will be assessed during your initial consultation but as a guide, the Emsella is not suitable in the following scenarios:
- You have an implanted device (eg. pacemaker, neurostimulators, internal defibrillators)
- electronic implant (eg. implanted glucose monitor)
- copper coil (mirena coil is ok if inserted more than 1 month prior)
